QUESTIONS · PARTITIONS & ROOMS
Partitions and rooms,
answered plainly.
Closing in a space without closing it off. These are the questions that decide whether a glass wall works day to day.
Broward · Miami-Dade · Palm Beach
Will a glass partition actually block sound?
It reduces sound; it does not eliminate it. How much depends on the glass thickness, whether the glass is laminated, how well the perimeter is sealed, and whether the partition runs to the structure above or stops at the ceiling. If quiet conversation matters, say so early — it changes the specification, not the finish.
How do I get privacy and still keep the light?
Frosted and satin glass, applied film, fluted glass, or a banded pattern at eye level all give privacy while the light keeps coming through. The right one depends on how much you want to see through at standing height versus seated height.
Compare the finishesWhat holds a partition up?
Slim perimeter profiles at the floor, ceiling and walls in most cases, sometimes with vertical joints between panels sealed rather than framed. The connection to the surrounding surfaces is the part that decides whether the result looks deliberate or improvised, and it should be drawn before it is built.
Can I have a glass door in the partition?
Yes — hinged, sliding, or a pivot door, in the same glass as the wall or in a contrasting finish. The door hardware, the closer, the floor condition and the swing clearance need to be coordinated with the partition layout rather than added afterwards.
Does it work in a home, not just an office?
It does, and it is increasingly where these go — a home office, a gym, a wine room, a stair enclosure, a screened patio closed in for year-round use. The considerations change: ventilation, heat gain, cleaning, and how the room is used when it is not being used for its main purpose.
Glass roomsWhat about heat and glare in Florida?
Real considerations if the glass faces the sun. Tinted glass, low-iron glass with a solar film, or simply where the partition sits relative to the windows all change how the room behaves at two in the afternoon. Worth thinking about before the layout is fixed.
How is the glass cleaned in an office?
Like any glass, but the frequency is set by the traffic. Door edges and push areas need the most attention. If the partition is in a space with a cleaning contract, it is worth telling them what the finish is, because the wrong product can damage a coated or frosted surface.
Can you work around our business hours?
Scheduling is discussed per project. Tell us early what the constraints are — access hours, building rules, elevator reservations, when the space has to be usable — and we will confirm what is workable in the written scope rather than promise it up front.

Still have a question?
If yours is not answered here, ask it. The answer usually depends on your site — the surface, the span, the finishes around it — and we would rather look than guess.
